sordino

Notifications that matter. The rest, kept quiet.

Sordino is an Android app that hides promotions and come-back bait, keeps your quiet hours silent, and still lets calls, sign-in codes and the apps you choose reach you.

Delivery times

One summary of what was hidden, at each time you pick

Hold everything until the next timeCalls, sign-in codes and critical apps still come through

Up to six times a day.

It works: tap the tabs, an app or a hidden notification.

Promotions and come-back bait wait

Sales, coupons, "items left in your cart", "someone posted for the first time in a while", streak reminders and apps you have not opened in weeks stay off your lock screen. Messages from people, payments, deliveries and bookings come through.

Every hidden one, with the reason

Hidden notifications are not lost. They wait in your inbox with the reason they were hidden, and one tap tells Sordino it got one wrong. The next notification of that kind follows your choice.

Quiet hours that are actually quiet

Pick the hours and the days. Your phone stays silent, and when quiet hours end you get one summary: who wrote, what was paid, what is on its way, how much marketing was skipped. If someone keeps trying to reach you, or a sign-in code arrives, it comes through with a sound.

One app, two kinds of notification

A bank sends "$1,240 charged to your card" and "30% off this weekend" from the same app. Sordino tells them apart, so you keep one and hide the other, app by app.

Keyword rules

Pick the words and what happens to a notification that has them: hide it, block it or always show it, for one app or for all of them. A word you always want to see gets through at any hour.

Delivery times

Get what was hidden in one summary at the times you choose, such as noon and six. Or hold everything until the next time, while calls, sign-in codes and your critical apps still come through.

See who is noisy

Every app shows how many notifications it sent, how many you opened and when it sends them. Sordino suggests blocking the ones you never open.

The night, handed over at seven

Quiet hours from 23:00 to 07:00. Nothing makes a sound while nineteen notifications wait, and the sign-in code at 02:14 still gets through. At seven the night arrives as one summary.

Everything else it does

History you can search
Every notification, shown or hidden, stays searchable for 90 days, and you can export it as a CSV file.
A nudge for what you missed
A notification from a critical app that you have not opened comes back as a reminder.
Do Not Disturb, handled
If you allow it, Sordino turns Do Not Disturb on when quiet hours start and off when they end. It only turns off what it turned on, and if you switch it off yourself during quiet hours, it stays off.
Your own alert sound
Pick any of the alert sounds for the notifications that come through, or use one of your own.
A new phone keeps your setup
Android's backup brings back your quiet hours, keyword rules, delivery times and the choices you made for each app. Your notification history is never part of it.

Stays on your phone

Notification text is read, sorted and summarised on your phone and kept there.

  • It is never uploaded, to us or to anyone else.
  • Delete your history at any time. Uninstall Sordino and everything it stored is gone.
  • The ads never see your notifications.
  • Crash reports and purchase checks carry no notification content.
  • Backups carry your settings and rules, never your history.

What it does not do

  • No iPhone version. Sordino needs Android 8.0 or newer.
  • Nothing gets sorted until you give Sordino notification access.
  • It can get one wrong. Do not rely on it as the only way to receive medical, security or emergency alerts.
  • Android may play a blocked notification's sound for a moment before Sordino removes it.
  • A new phone starts with an empty history, because history never leaves the old one.

Questions

Does Sordino send my notifications anywhere?

No. Notification text is read, sorted and summarised on your phone and stays there. The ads, crash reports and purchase checks in the app never include it.

Could I miss a call or a sign-in code?

Calls, alarms, sign-in and payment codes and the apps you mark as critical come through at any hour, quiet hours included. Someone who keeps trying to reach you gets through with a sound.

Where do hidden notifications go?

To the inbox in Sordino, each with the reason it was hidden. Open, copy or delete them there, or tell Sordino it got one wrong and the next one like it comes through.

What does Sordino need on my phone?

Notification access, so it can sort what your apps post. Do Not Disturb access only if you want the phone silenced during quiet hours. Android 8.0 or newer.

Is Sordino free?

Yes, every feature. Sordino shows a few ads inside its own screens, never in your notifications.

How do I remove the ads?

With a monthly or yearly subscription in the app. It removes the ads and nothing else changes, because nothing else is for sale. The price for your country is shown in the app.
